it's not just the shoes that bother me, it's the entire outfit for whatever reason... looks, idk, off? Especially the bright blue outline. Wtf is up with that? It looks like an early draft of what his clothing should have been, like un unfinished package file (ha, sorry comparing this to S2 package files) but anyways... I agree. The shoes are horrilbe

WOO! It kinda looks like he's part of Deepground. Remember, that's just one of the three outfits he has... I personally like his outfit.
Tifa more then likely has her Advent Children outfit as well... But what I'm interested in is Kain's second outfit. Too bad I can't find one.

Thought that was rather interesting. Short, but some fine eyecandy none the less
And the longer trailer -
Hmm.... so Laguna is gonna be in this one? Didn't know that

Indeed very interesting. I do wonder though if her taking on Sephiroth on her own is not a recipe for failure. She couldn't even handle Loz on her own, Sephiroth is a nightmare compared to him Cloud haz eskimo bootz.

Apparently Vaan, and Yuna are in it as well, although i couldn't find a vid with yuna except for her feet and summoner dress (vaan and Yuna are in the video above posted by Marlene). I did find Vaan using his EX Burst/Quickenings.
Also, rumor has it that Liam O'Brian (Advent Children, Red XIII) is to be Kain Highwind's voice.

Honestly: Im going to re buy my psp and this game just so I can play as the Laguna and see how him and Squall interact. Besides that, the game seems very appealing over all. I enjoyed the first dissidia very much and it actually gave my old psp a reason not to collect dust
And Idk what kind of fanboy cocktease trick there is going on but I do know I saw Edea in a video, much like all of these. Though if I remember correctly she seemed to be using attacks that mostly resemble Ultimecia so I cant say im getting too excited over that.

Well, I suppose we can set up an official headcount for now:
Cosmos: FFI - Warrior of Light FFII - Firion FFIII - Onion Knight FFIV - Cecil Harvey and Kain Highwind FFV - Bartz Klauser FFVI - Terra Branford FFVII - Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, and Aerith Gainsborough (Assist Only/ JP ver only [for now]) FFVIII - Squall Leonhart and Laguna Loire FFIX - Zidane Tribal FFX - Tidus and Yuna FFXI - Prishe and Shantotto FFXII Vaan FFXIII - Lightning Total Count: 19 (18 if you exclude Aeris for being Assist Only)
Chaos: FFI - Garland FFII - Emperor Palamecia FFIII - Cloud of Darkness FFIV - Golbez FFV - Exdeath and Gilgamesh FFVI - Kefka Palazzo FFVII - Sephiroth FFVIII - Ultimecia FFIX - Kuja FFX - Jecht FFXI - None FFXII - Gabranth FFXIII - None Final Count: 12
Total Count: 30 playable and +1 Assist, with a ratio of almost 2 to 1 in favor of Cosmos. That means 9 new characters (8 playable).
All stages from Dissidia 1 will be included, and the new additions are as follows: FFII - Hell's Throne FFIII - Crystal Tower FFVI - Phantom Train FFIX - Prima Vista FFXI - Empyreal Paradox FFXII - Sky Fortress Bahamut FFXIII - Orphan's Cradle
That means that if Square Enix keeps true to their word, there will be at minimum 1 more new stage, as Square Enix promised for as many new stages as there are characters. I see 8 new playable, meaning there is at least 1 more stage to reveal as only 7 new ones have been revealed. And of course, there is the potential for more, depending on whether or not Aeris is factored in that equation and whether or not they are more characters waiting to be revealed. Time will tell.

Just got through playing Prologus...the gameplay feels a bit more streamlined than the first, so thats good, but other than that its pretty much the same thing. The only notable gameplay difference is, obviously, the addition of assists, but the ones the demo provides by default don't really spice up the battles much, but I expect they'll play a more prominent role in the final product.
That said, I got a chance to test out two of the new characters, Kain and Lightning. Lightning seems a little unorthodox to use...I suppose it would help to understand the intricacies of the paradigm shift in Dissidia if I could actually read Japanese, but I can't, so no verdict on that one yet. Kain, on the other hand, is a bit more straightforward, and I can definitely grade him as a great all-range character. He packs some nice close to mid range Brave attacks, but his HP attacks seem to focus more on mid to long range combat (again, this is based only on what is available in the demo). Overall he comes out as a fairly neat package, playing a decent keep away-game for ranged HP attack setups. All of the other characters available in the demo were Dissidia 1 characters, but they have all been refined to make their styles of play flow more smoothly. Overall its a great improvement over the first game, even if none of the core features have changed. Definitely one to look forward to.

So has anyone played an american copy yet? I may actually go out and buy a psp.
The guy at gamestop said the first gen models of the psp can only be updated on their firmware so far, and after that point newer games won't play or play correctly. Does anyone have any information on these subjects?

Yeah, I have the US version. Its pretty good. Still cheap as hell though. They made Chase attacks harder to predict/dodge, and its still apparent that certain characters have clear advantages over the rest just like before, so, for better or worse, other than some tweaks, its really more of the same, just with more characters and with the addition of assists.
