(( I'm going to use this as a basis for the new RP we'll be starting. As it stands, if I don't do something like this I don't think we'll ever get around to RPing... ))
Alone he stood, amongst the scattered bodies of both friend and foe who had spilt their blood for a cause that was not their own, but rather the designs of those higher powers above them who had toyed with their lives. His sword, the brilliant sheen of which had been hidden behind the blood of countless lives which it had taken, sat upright, it's tip jammed deeply into the ground below it. His eyes, cold and merciless, reflected no emotion as they scanned the wasteland of a battlefield which just days ago had been a lush and fertile land beaming with life. That life had been so easily snuffed out.
"......."
He wondered briefly if anyone else was alive out there in that vast field of destruction. If there were, they would be few and far between. His weary body protested against any notion to begin a search, and so, he sat, letting his exhausted legs take a well deserved rest after a long fought battle whose end seemed to be nowhere in sight the previous day. He allowed his tired eyes to close briefly, and he uncharacteristically began to reflect on how things had been driven to this point. Perhaps the sheer amount of blood that had been spilt reflected something that told him to search for the answer, to understand why this had occured this way.
"It all began on that day..."
He pondered briefly, that if anyone else had survived, if they too were searching for the same answer as he, out there in the ocean of blood they had created...
(( It's a start at least... ))

Zeke looked down upon the carnage, blood everywhere. There was only one alive. He stood in the middle of a giant ring of people. Just standing there. Almost oblivious to the carnage around him. He simply couldn't have cared at all, just to stand. Or to sit. He had changed position while Zeke was pondering who he had to be. He suspected Sephiroth, but who could be sure? He changed position without notice yet again, but this time Zeke was a little alarmed. The person down there must have been Sephiroth, but he never got battle-weary. He was one of them. The monsters. The sons of Jenova. There was the hiss of metal on metal, the clank of hard rubber on steel, and the twang of a spring under tension. The spike launcher caught into the building adjacent to him, and he swing down, releasing the hook, and re-shooting it to the building he had been on, going downwards all the while. He repeated this process until he was on the ground. He made no attempt to conceal his presence from the demon. It would be low enough to attack him while he slept...
((If you're gonna realize he's there, don't hesitate to deal mortal wounds... He'll live... Hopefully))

(( Not quite what I was going for, but it works. Alright... ))
He slowly opened his eyes and observed the man who appeared to him as if he was moving in slow motion. Despite the fact that the adrenaline was slowly fading away after days of intense fighting, he still had enough of a combat edge to continue fighting a battle. So, with lightning speed, he rose, removing his sword from the ground below him and charging the man, his sword aiming straight for the heart. His desire to fight was gone, and it was as if his body was running on it's own, intent on finishing this battle, even though it was apparent by the sorroundings that it had ended long ago. The mystery man clashed swords with him, and they held that position for a few moments, long enough for him to get a few choice words in.
"Can you not see that this battle is over? What point is there in continuing this pointless struggle? Both sides have been decimated. If you cannot see that after all of this fighting, than you are a blind fool."
With that, they parted, and as the man came in for a second strike, Sephiroth parried it, and pushed on the Masamune to force the man's defense to open, taking the opportunity to make a quick grab for the man's neck. It appeared that this tactic had caught the man by surprise, and so he stood there stunned for the instant that it took for Sephiroth to grab it. Using his advanced SOLDIER training, he quickly proceeded to slam the man onto the ground, and as he recoiled, delivered a sharp kick to his side, sending him hurtling along the ground until he recovered and jumped back to his feet.
"Foolishness. With skills like that you won't ever have a chance of defeating me."
He only wished for this battle to end, at long last. He found it odd that he, a professional SOLDIER who lived for battle, would grow so weary of it. He thought back as the reason why, but let go of his musings as he saw the man charging at him again. Like all the rest, this battle was pointless, but others were intent on seeing it through to it's bitter end. How foolish indeed.
(( Hmm...kinda ran out of ideas for that one, but oh well... ))

Zeke had just recieved a merciless beating at the hands of the demon. A few of his ribs were undoubtably broken, and the SOLDIER hadn't even broken a sweat. He spat some blood on the ground, and recalled his first few days at that Shinra academy. How he had been physically abused to the point of unconciousness, and then abused even more by the staff. For a month, he was a victim of blackjacks, blanket parties, and even a firing line. All because of three people. His parents, and the academy headmaster. It was time for payback. He spun his sword in a quick circle, flicking his own blood off of it. He had been impaled on his own sword, to use the phrase. Luckily for him, it had only grazed his leg. He ran towards the demon, and instantly fell victim to the sword, which was flicked up faster than Zeke could see. It slid straight through his stomach. He looked down at it, trying to keep his face expressionless. "Hmm..." he said, his face not entirely hiding his pain. "That is gonna leave a mark." He groaned as the sword was raised into the air, taking him with it. The young mercenary was then flung into a building, crashing through a window, and hitting a pillar. He stood up yet again, and rushed the demon, stepping to his left at the last second, and jumping over the swipe to his shins to the right, the assassin blade sliding out of it's sheath and cutting the demon's arm. He rolled away, and was instantly hit by the back of Sephiroth's blade, which made him continue his roll in a manner most unpleasant. He had been cut by the tip, and now had numerous holes in his body. He coughed up about a pint of blood, and crawled away. The fight would have to continue another day. If he had another day. He made it about 100 yards. He then laid back against a wall. He was soon unconcious from blood loss, and still bleeding. He would die in an hour without help. Luckily for him, he was being watched. A single person in the upper floors of the building across from the one he was laying on. In 10 minutes, a chopper had lifted off carrying the near-dead man. In several days, he would wake up in a holding tank. Several days for him to lie there. Several days to be converted into one of them...

(( I'm going to skip the introductions and just go with the flow. I don't feel like emerging from the lifestream and choosing sides again... My apologies for the shortness of this, but I wanted to join as soon as possible, as to not miss the fun drama... ))
She laid a hand on Sephiroth's shoulder. "You need to stop this."
The suprise that was nearly invisible on his face seemed to overshadow his cold eyes for just a second. Just long enough for her concern to seemingly reach him, if only for a moment. "I know I'm in no position to boss you around, but the fighting needs to end... If only for a day, let the survivors live, even if you plan to crush them by your hands later...."
Though she was aware that her purity was probably his current irritation, he could turn around and spear her at any moment, and she knew it as well as he. Her voice would be heard in case of her death, and she was going to make sure of it.
The silence between them held an aura of apprehension, or so it seemed to her.
Will he ask me where I was...? I hope not, since I don't have an answer for him... 'Among the corpses,' I should say. Sephiroth would be unaffected by any and all things that she said, but the only thing she could lose this time was her re-life.
With bloodstains on her pale dress, her normally neat ponytail in a matted-appearing mess, and darkened sag seeping from under her eyes, she didn't feel very alive in the first place. Her unusually pale appearence seemed otherworldly in a field where only the vile flower of death bloomed.

Hojo slowly walked to the spot in the distance where he could see the only two living beings around. His senses told him that one was his son, Sephiroth. The other, he could not identify. His normal attire, his white labcoat was not completely red, and wrapped around his upper torso. Part of it had been ripped off and tied around his right arm, which still dripped a redish-black liquid, which killed the few plants around that weren't already dead. His hair was no more a mess then usual, besides the sticky spots of red on it. Whether it was his own blood or not, he wasn't sure.
The other figure was now spilling blood upon the ground. He ran past Hojo, who didn't break his stride or even turn to look at the man. He would be dead soon without help anyway. Hojo's eyes quickly glanced tothe sides. So many bodies... this didn't excite him as it normally would. Hardly any of these crpses and cadavers were intact enough to be useful.
He focused ahead once more to see the Cetra girl in pink talking to Sephiroth, her hand on his soldier. Hojo smirked a bit. Atleast it seemed that among the suvivors, the most important people were alive. He reached the two and stopped, looking them both over to see if he could piece together how they had fared.
"So..." Hojo said with interest in his voice more than any emotion, "I take it this all went as planned?"

He had almost turned and killed Aeris when she had touched his shoulder. He was glad he caught himself before he did. Was he really that tired? Unlikely. Perhaps he had just grown so accustomed to her presense, that he hadn't noticed her approach. Regardless, he was releived to see her. Despite her dramatic increase in power as of late, he still had not expected her to make it out of this alive, especially after having lost contact with her after only the third day of fighting.
"......."
He had noticed Hojo fairly quickly however. It did not surprise him much that his father had lived. Much like himself, Hojo had a knack for survival that would strike most as downright impossible. Perhaps it ran in the family. His question, though expected, still caught him off guard.
"I never expected we would have to take it this far, or that it would ever have come to this. There isn't even a clear winner to the battle, but it does suit my intentions just fine. For now, we'll fall back to the rendevouz point as planned. We'll wait for a day for any survivors to show, then we'll move back to headquarters by any means necessary."
He looked at his two companions and awaited the undoubted input of their opinions....

Aeris wobbled backward a few steps then stabled her posture and looked out, over the carnage and to the sky. She felt as she feared she would---just living shell, with a dead soul. A numb feeling rose in her chest as she turned her body away from Sephiroth and his 'father.'
"There is...nothing more we can do here." Her lack of emotion was unchanged. "We cannot hurt the Planet any more on this land.... It's dead. As dead as the bodies that litter it." Her final words darkly rolled from her lips as she inhaled the scent of blood.
"It's...sad...That it came to this...." She refused eye contact with either of them. Tears threatened to pour from her eyes as she moved her hands from her sides and clasped them together at her chest.
The ache would not go away, whether or not she cried.

Seeing her in this state was not going to benefit him any. After having been so close to her for the past few months, he had learned her body language very well, much to his benefit. Walking up to her, he gently placed his gloved hand on her shoulder.
"It isn't dead. Only wounded, and with time, it will heal, even it we aren't around to see it."
Although he very much intended to be around to see it, and his plans would very well make sure of that. It was only a matter of time, he thought, as he stared off into the distance...

Hidden behind a building Kizna watched as the battle between Sephiroth and stranger unfolded, of coarse Sephiroth came out victorious but for some reason he did not kill the stranger....could it have been that the man was gonna die soon or was it cause he was that tired. Whatever the case was she had to stay and observe him as that was what she was hired for in this mission.
"Hmm I know you must be tired Sephiroth after all that you just went through..."she whispered to herself as she grabbed her full metal baton "the probublility of me slaying you right now would be around 37%...no more like 34%." Suddenly young lady walked towards Sephiroth without any fear or nothing "Who could she be...maybe someone dear to him." Just as soon as the yound lady had appeared another man with a lab coat walked towards him as if they knew each other or had some sort of alliance.
Takeing another closer glace with googles she saw that it was Hojo that crazy mad scientist that she worked with once "Hojo?! What the heck would he be doing here, or could it be that he was why Sephiroth had attacked here."
Tighting her fist she knew things had changed now as Hojo presence would most definatly be an eye sore in her true plans for this mission but somehow she still lightly kept a smile on her face "Well now I would say its a 13% chance if that girl actually does pose a threat eitherway I like a good challenge but for the moment I will have to hold my ground till I am seen or I see an opening." Silently she moved into the shadows to look onward.

His hand on her shoulder felt warm, and his false sympathy was comforting in an icy way. At least he was concerned enough to pretend to reach her, if only for his own gain in the end. She thought she saw something move in the shadows of the corner of her eye, but felt delierious and drew no attention to it. If it turned out to be something that had a chance at escape from this terrible place, she did not want to be the reason its life was cut years---or days---shorter.
Both of them had a barrier that refused to let the other get too close. He seemed content to leave her steps behind, while she was content to follow him to the ends of the Planet. She would never walk beside him, nor would he ever let her. Here---this agreement---this whole situation---seemed wrong. For once, they were beside each other and on the same page of their long book. He was faking the ever-reliable man, and she was faking the always-comforted woman. But it didn't take a trained eye to see the darkness in his eyes and the pain in hers.

Sephiroth looked around. Something was sliightly off with the sorrounding area. He had this feeling that he was being watched, but tired as he was couldn't place the source of the feeling. Deeming it best to begin moving, he turned in the direction of the rendevous point and began walking.
"It's best that we move out as quickly as possible. I don't feel very comfortable being here any longer."
He paused and turned to wait for the approval of his two companions. He highly doubted anyone would feel comfortable around here for centuries to come.

Post by Reno on Aug 24, 2008 20:48:19 GMT -5
Reno was riding a plane flying 30,000 feet above the battlefield flipping through a porno magazine. An AVALANCHE member approached him and told him to put it up but Reno ignored him. The AVALANCHE member then told him to put on his oxygen mask but still Reno ignored him. "Does this pussy know what he's doing?" said the AVALANCHE member said to himself.
Rude's voice came over the intercom, "Hey are you retarded? He said put up that magazine and put on your mask!" Reno threw his magazine to the side and put on his mask. "Six minutes to dropoff," The AVALANCHE member said, "Opening rear hatch." Reno got up and moved towards the rear of the plane, standing on the very edge of it. Suddenly Elena screamed on the intercom, "HALO JUMP!" and Reno fell off of the plane.
He was now falling towards the dead body filled land at 130 miles per hour. Just for kicks Reno activated his stealth camo. Falling was boring. Blah blah blah. Halfway through he opened his parachute. "Fuck. Stealth camo is useless with this thing!"
Soon the ground was close and Reno said to hell with it and unhooked himself from the parachute. As soon as he landed, his stealth camo busted. Right after that he got a...stimulation from his ear. He put his index finger to it and Rude began to talk. "Sorry about that. I've got Elena tied up in the corner with a ball gag in her mouth...naked." There was a moment of silence. Finally Reno asked, "Why is she naked?" Another moment of silence. After awhile it was clear Rude didn't have an answer so Reno told him to forget it.
"Ahem..er right." Rude stammered, "Anyways this mission is called Operation Zombie Eater." Reno waited for Rude to continue with details but there was just silence so he asked, "So...is that it?" More silence. "Oh right." Rude said, "Uhh those dead people are gonna turn into zombies and you gotta...you know. Kill them."
Reno was pissed. Zombies? Was he fucking joking? He now knew why AVALANCHE gave him a shotgun but since zombies are so ridiculously stupid, they could've just given him a cricket paddle and he'd be just fine.
"By the way, Reno we're giving you the codename Gaseous Snake for this mission." Reno's anger grew even more, "Ok and I'm giving it right back to you assholes. That codename sucks." The sound of papers being shuffled could be heard in the background. "Okay" Rude said, "How about Bandit Dragon?" Reno was amazed, "How about I shove my fist up your ass and make you my own personal puppet?!" More papers could be heard and incoherent whispers as well. "Right." Said Rude, "You'll love this one. Infantry Wallaby!" The red-head rubbed his head and calmly said, "You know what? Screw the codenames. I'm just gonna go to work." Rude sighed, "Fine. Alright my frequency is 169.69. Call me if you run into any trouble."
Reno got offline. He still wondered why Elena was naked but he was sure the guys just wanted to have some...fun with her. He then took out his shotgun and EMR and began to look around for zombies.
(As usual I have no idea what the hell I am doing. I'll redo it if its too...idk...stoopid!)

Death. The area wreaked of it. Blood seemed to flow over the ground like a river. A pile of bodies moved slowly. then one was pushed over. A bloodied hand emerged from the carnage and pulled it's owner out. The man coughed as he breathed for air.
Using his axe for a cane, Vitex heaved himself up. Blood dripped off his normally tied back hair as he he lifted his head. He opened his crimson red eyes and looked around. He saw Sephiroth, a woman he had never seen and a man who's description would be forever etched into his memory, Hojo. Hojo was responsible for his existence. He never thought he'd see that man. Narrowing his eyes the 'Vincent look-alike' took a staggering step back. He wanted as much distance from that group of people as possible.
Now was not the time for battle. too much blood had been spilled that day. The Half-breed shifter turned away from the group before him, to leave.

Inside the chopper, Zeke was still unconcious. He was on an IV drip, and was getting blood transfusions as first aid. They had already wrapped up the major wounds, and were trying to stabilize his condition. If he was going to be a test subject, he had to be alive. That would be key. Zeke opened his eyes, though they were unseeing. The meds quickly put him back to sleep, then went back to trying to bring him back to ShinRa alive. If he worked, he'd pave the way for some new SOLDIERs. If he didn't... well... No one wanted to mention that. He began to suffer from a rejectance seizure; the blood transfusions weren't taking. They strapped him to the gurney and switched his transfusion bag. He stopped jerking, and the medics sighed in relief. It was about time too. Their 10 to 20 minute journey to the ShinRa labs had been just long enough to stabilize the new experiment. Time for the actual task...
