Yeah, I'm sure alot of the old strategies I had for each character will have to be adjusted accordingly to reflect the new changes. Hopefully they nerfed some of the overpowered characters from the JP version (like Kuja)...

Well, finally got the game. Other than the English voiceovers being complete trash for the most part, the game is even better than the Japanese version

Yeah the voices aren't anything special Garland - It's Chris Sabat and he needs to sound more like Piccolo or Vegeta. Light Warrior - Haven't paid much attention to him. Firion - Nero/Ichigo/The Green Power Ranger? Hahaha. Emperor - David Bowie should've voiced this guy. Onion Dude - Sounds like Sora...eww Cloud of Darkness - Not that bad. Kinda sexy. Cecil - Too cheesy. Golbez - I think he sounds awesome. Butz - He's okay. Exdeath - I was expecting him to sound like one of the judges from FFXII. Terra - Oh gawd.... Kefka - Hate it. Should've been Mark Hamill. Cloud - He sounds like he usually does. Bored. Sephiroth - Still awesome. Fuck you Lance Bass. Squall - The guy who voiced him in KH1 was much better. Ultimecia - Like CoD only not sexy or sinister or good. Zidane - It's kinda what I was expecting. Kinda fits but could be better. Kuja - Same as Zidane. Tidus - Better than how he was in FFX. Jecht - Still sounds manly. FF's version of Captain Falcon. Gabranth - Not the same guy it was in FFXII. I heard it's the guy who played Basch.... W H Y?! Shantotto - Horrible.

So...what? That means Exdeath still sucks and Kuja is still badass?

Exdeath definitely still sucks (although he's much stronger than before). Kuja was toned down ALOT (his Flare Star is no longer the cheapest attack in existance).

That figures. The one guy I liked other than Sephiroth has his powers stripped. Any word on the release date to the next one?

So far the release date is set as Q1 2011 for Japan, TBA 2011 for all other regions.

It's not really surprising at all.
I'd like to see Seifer in it, they were going to put him in the first one but felt his moves would be too similar to Squalls. However with a larger cast that may not be an issue second time round.

I still say it's kind of stupid that the final storyline is so damn hard. I can't get past Firion. Guard doesn't stun people if they're using ranged attacks.

Rufus ShinraThe main problem with increasing the cast too much is balancing. Obviously making a game completely balanced is probably impossible, but forgoing all efforts at balance and filling the game with nothing but redundant characters and fanservice is sure to destory the longevity of the game (or make its player base exclusively stick to a certain character for competitive play). With Dissidia 1 already being as unbalanced as it was (both the JP and US/Int ver), I think before they decide to add too many new or clone characters, they should work on the balancing issues that plagued the first game @cid I assume you're referring to Inward Chaos? Yeah, it was a bitch. I don't know how many times I ended up retrying IC Chaos as Sephiroth before I finally beat him. Bad memories... Tifa LockhartNope

Ah balancing, the bane of every fighting game. I agree completely, perhaps it was the fanboy in me calling out for my favourites as sadly none of the characters in Dissidia were my favourites in the games, though I came to love playing Cecil - was some fun times. But I agree, some characters completely troll others and balancing is something that needs to be worked on.
Always happy to see more cast into the mix still, even if they can only fit a couple without ruining it.
