Name : Cloud Strife
Alignment/Affiliation : AVALANCHE / Former ShinRa / Former SOLDIER(?)
Age : 30
Race : Human
Appearance :
Weapon : Fusion Swords
-Comprised of six separate blades, the Fusion Swords are a versatile weapon which Cloud has learned to put to the fullest potential of power. The main blade, which he uses most often, is the only one to have its own name. Known as the First Ken, it is the base for every more powerful form of the Fusion Blades thereafter. The two blades seated in the back are longer, one with a saw-toothed edge, and the other with a normally edged blade. The blade seated in front, commonly referred to as the "Hollow Blade", is more of a bent piece of metal than an actual sword. Curved into a 'v' lengthwise, the actual blade of this separate sword is the sharpened base of the 'v'. The final two blades are closer to the size of daggers than actual swords, and are symmetrical in every way. Fitting into the sides of the First Ken, they help to interlock the six blades firmly together in a fair facsimile of the original Buster Sword.

Abilities : Fueled first by his rage at Sephiroth and later by his need to strong enough to protect his friends, Cloud keeps himself as monstrously strong as possible (which may be a good thing, considering the 140 lb + hunk of steel he calls a sword). Focusing primarily on attack materias and strong, if slower strikes, Cloud's attacks are sure to blast through even the strongest defenses, if at the expense of his own.
History/Background :
Cloud Strife is one of the most classic cases of "wrong place, wrong time" known to mankind. Originally a low-ranking member of ShinRa's infantry, Cloud gradually became associated with a man by the name of Zack Fair, a friendship which would lead to no end of trouble in Cloud's life. Never particularly successful as a member of ShinRa's infantry, Cloud found a strong source of support in Zack, one that was pulled out from under him the day ShinRa had his friend put to death for his troubles in saving their company from ruin. Blaming Sephiroth for his friend's death, Cloud fell to despair. No longer content to live his own life, Cloud took up his fallen friend's Buster Sword, and in doing so, his life.
Deluding himself into believing that Zach's past and achievements were his own, Cloud distanced himself from reality and friends, becoming more cold and uncaring as time went on. Cloud found himself caught up in a cause he had no intention of ever furthering. Consumed by his hatred of Sephiroth, Cloud joined forces with Barret for just one job, and found himself reconnected with an old friend. Drawn to seek out some small semblance of forgiveness from Tifa Lockheart, Cloud remained a part of AVALANCHE despite his lack of interest in bringing down ShinRa. Gradually growing to appreciate the cause as it continually crossed paths with his ultimate goal of killing the man he blamed for Zack's death, Cloud eventually found his victory close at hand, and his new friends more and more important to him.
Unfortunately, all of this came crashing down around Cloud's ears the moment Sephiroth slew the woman he, and Zack, had both grown to love and sworn to protect. His rage fueled as never before, Cloud allowed it to destroy him until nothing was left but cooled ashes, spent rage, and deep, sorrowful regret. Wallowing in his own self-pity and his lack of ability to save Aeris' life, Cloud grew more distant from his friends than ever before.
Eventually, Cloud vanished. No longer responding to calls on his cell phone and remaining completely cut off from his friends, it seemed for all intents and purposes that Cloud had returned to his old ways. In fact, still brooding over Aeris' death and now battling a case of Geostigma in secret, Cloud was attempting to save his friends from the pain of being near him during this turbulent time. Slowly becoming more aware of his friends' need for his help, Cloud returned to help them save the world from Sephiroth's return.
Despite his reunion with Aeris during the battle with Kadaj, Cloud still harbors feelings of impotence and inferiority for being unable to save her life in the first place. Though now back among friends, Cloud stays distant and uninterested in most of the world around him, even remaining almost wholly unresponsive to Tifa, his best friend. Unable to escape the ghosts of his past and unwilling to exist in the present, Cloud has decided that the best course of action for him will be to revisit his home in Nibelheim and try to find peace with some of his inner demons.
