The shadows filled his quarters, nothing by the dim lit rays of the moons reflection piercing his window as the night was broad. The sounds of a tickling clock echoed n his large bedroom, time slowly tapping by the sleeping President. He lay on his white streets wearing his naught but his white trousers, he had had enough time that night to pull off the majority of his clothes before collapsing into his bed but not nearly enough to properly prepare. This was the only time he had his walls down, his blonde hair scruffed and unkept as well as his body defenseless. It was very rare any were allowed to see him in such a state as he was still known as the man who never bled or cried, not even as a child. The room was open only to his nurse for now as her care for him overruled the threat.
Rufus Shinra slept a dreamless sleep. He did not think about the sins he had committed for lives he had ruined in his position of power. Not that he was without fault for his suffering upon others, simply he had learnt to push such things aside when he slept. A man could not lead a world if he tired constantly, he simply did not have the time to be distraught by those he wronged. Like a lazy baby he lay on his bed, one arm propped beside him as his hand was placed behind his head while the other lay on his chest. Rufus lay quietly, oblivious to what occured around him. Until finally at the early hours of the morning, the sun not yet breathing the fresh air, he stirred on his sheets. The President slid his hand from the back of his head and pinched the bridge of his nose as the sleep still weighed heavily on his eye lids. He did not wish to arise yet, but work as a President rarely gave him much time to be lazy.
Not yet noticing what was around him Rufus turned his gaze to the window as the orange sky shimmered against his open window. As beautiful as it was he was not touched by it. All that danced in his mind were the reports of terror in the North. If someone... or something, had broken through the ground for revenge. The fear of what it was had no appearance on his expression but guesses filled his mind. The world was in danger once again?
